Gynecological procedures

Laparoscopy
This operation enables a careful examination of the pelvis in order to diagnose or rule out the presence of endometriosis, pelvic adhesions, or other problems that may cause infertility. Laparoscopy requires general anesthesia and the patient must be accompanied upon discharge from the hospital. After the procedure, the patient may feel a slight discomfort which is however normal and expected.

Hysteroscopy
Hysteroscopy is a procedure used to examine the inside of the womb. It may be diagnostic or interventional. Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure and an absolutely necessary procedure in treating a number of internal uterine pathologies.
Diagnostic Hysteroscopy checks the endocervix for polyps, adhesions, or malignancy, and the uterine cavity for the presence of a septum, adhesions, malformations, presence of fibroids and polyps, hyperplasia, and malignancy. It only lasts a few minutes and no hospitalization is required.
On the other hand, Operative Hysteroscopy is used for polypectomy, adhesiolysis, uterine septum correction and fibroids removal. The patient usually doesn’t need to stay in the clinic after the procedure.
