Egg Donation

Egg Donation is recommended in the following cases:

• Women who carry severe genetic diseases.
• Ovaries are absent or non-functional, or not responding to ovarian stimulation.
• Women > 42 years.

The egg donors are tested for a range of diseases and their complete medical history is taken. These tests include HIV, Hepatitis B and C, gonorrhea, syphilis, cystic fibrosis, thalassemia etc. Egg donation is anonymous and may be performed with fresh or with frozen donor eggs. Egg donation is done on a purely voluntary basis.

Pregnancy rates are usually very high and depend mainly on the age of the donor.
