Maria Asmarianaki is a graduate of the Department of Genetics at Liverpool University (United Kingdom). She received a Master of Science (MSc) Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from Liverpool University John Moores University (UK). She trained in Clinical Embryology in Manchester at CARE (Centers for Assisted Reproduction), one of the largest private hospital chains in England. She worked in the IVF unit of PAGNI under the direction of Professor of Gynecology-Obstetrics Antonis Makrigiannakis. She is certified for the process of microfertilization (ICSI) by the Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority (HFEA) since 2002 and Senior Clinical Ebryologist by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) since 2012. Participates in the educational program of the Medical School of the University of Crete in the course of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as in continuing education courses of the Doctors of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic under the supervision of Professor Antonis Makrigiannakis. She also participates in clinical trials, has published in prestigious scientific journals and has trained and mentored young embryologists. She is a member of the Panhellenic Association of Clinical Embryologists (PEKE) and the European Society of Human Reproduction (ESHRE). Her research interests are related to fetal biopsy and pre-implantation testing for the diagnosis of chromosomal abnormalities. She is a member of the scientific team of I.R.I.S MED and is responsible for the reliable operation of the Embryology – Andrology Laboratory as well as for the training – guidance of young embryologists.Maria Asmarianaki BSc, MSc
